About us

The Massive is an Event Promotion and Music Culture brand, working hard to provide New Zealanders unforgettable nightlife experiences. Through our guest mix showcases, event wildcard opportunities and The Massive interview series, we also support the local scene and industry and showcase the best New Zealand has to offer.

Consisting of Kerry, Zach, Henk and Shayne, we are music lovers. There is nothing more that we love, and bringing that passion into events means we don’t cut corners on good quality sound and music.

The massive has a history going back ## Years – History (Kerry needs to write this)

We love to party and we know you do too, so we’ll see you at the next Massive Event!

Shayne Archer

Shayne, 26, is a Director of Photography by trade, filming, lighting and editing for TV commercials – but with a DJ history going back 10 years, Music has been his lifeblood for a long time. Starting off doing small gigs in pubs, birthdays, parties, corporate events and weddings he soon moved over to Drum and Bass production and DJing to start playing music that resonated with him. After a long break from DJing and producing from 2015-2020, he came back to his labour of love and started using his skill set in Film and TV audio mixing to get back into it, delving head first into the DnB scene where he could.
Shayne brings his skill sets from commercials and advertising to The Massive by running our social media and ad campaigns, and uses his technical skills to help with heaps across the board when we run events, interviews, and streams.

Henk Stolk

Henk, 60 (yeahh true), is a bit of a weird duck in the Drum and Base scene.
Henk grew up in The Netherlands, this little weird, free thinking country where most stuff like smoking pot is legal. Henk saw the beginning of pop music, the start of the synthesizers like Popcorn, house, trance, hip hop and drum and base. Henk even enjoyed the Punk-era to the fullest.
Being older, but still loving Drum and Base music (favourite is Neurofunk) and the people involved in it. When he was much younger, he played drums and several copper instruments. And his live-long wish is to play the guitar but he’s still learning.
Henk had a long career in the IT industry and worked as project manager for many years for large companies. But now enjoying the quiet times and he brings all his experience to The Massive.
He sometimes can be described as the grumpy old dude, as managing in the Drum and Base world, with all its young people can be a little bit much.
But he makes sure things get done in a professional way.
But most of all, he’s here to enjoy the scene, the music, the people.
